Puzzle Toys
If you dog loves chewing, they may need an extra distraction for some stimulation. If your dog is eating grass, try using puzzle toys, which require some serious brainpower to access treats or toys. Some of these toys are suitable for outdoor use, too, for a grass distraction.
Deterrent Sprays
Deterrent sprays and repellents are one tool you can use to help train your dog to stay away from certain areas in your home or yard. These are best used for specific areas of grass. For example, your garden. Note that most sprays can be used indoors or outdoors but only last about 24 hours.
Leashes
Part of being a responsible dog owner is ensuring that you have control over your pup, which a solid leash is necessary for. You can use them to reel in your dog when they start gnawing on grass and use positive reenforcement from there by rewarding your dog for avoiding comping. That way they associate no grass munching with a treat.
Dog Muzzle
For dogs who tend to eat things they shouldn't, a muzzle can be a great tool. When properly used, a basket muzzle will allow your dog to pant and eat treats through the holes while not giving them access to any landscaping. It can be a good temporary fix, but be sure to always supervise your dog while they are wearing one.
Grass Repair
If your dog is eating enough grass that your lawn is suffering from patchy spots, purchase a grass repair product. These products make it easy to get your lawn in tip-top shape and can even deter your dog from returning to the scene of the crime. It's also good to make sure these products are safe for your dog as well.
New Dog Food
